Cake Dutchess is a renowned cake artist based in The Netherlands. After being dissatisfied with various modelling pastes, she eventually settled on this modelling paste, perfect for all of the cake toppers she makes!
This modelling paste is naturally very firm and doesn’t require any tylose powder or CMC powder. As such it stays in shape once moulded, doesn’t sag at all, and also has a very shiny and smooth texture, even after modelling for an hour!
With a super white appearance, it is a brilliant paste to start off with, but also extremely easy to colour with gel pastes.
Cake Dutchess modelling paste can be a little firm sometimes when you first get hold of it so to get it working, try cutting off smaller peices with a sharp knife and kneading. It also helps if the paste is stored at room temperature and if you are still having issues, try microwaving it for a short time to make it easier to knead.
